Agenda for Change Program
The goal of the Agenda for Change Program is to build Civil Society Organizations capable to represent the interests of their constituencies through reform-pushing. Agenda for Change Grantees will work closely with AED and the Consortium of Moldovan CSO Partners to improve their internal management and governing structures and increase their financial viability.
Furthermore, the Agenda for Change Grantees will set an agenda for constituency building through identifying issues and policy gaps in the area of activity they cover, carrying out advocacy campaigns, and building intra-sector and cross-sector networking. Upon the completion of the Program the Agenda for Change Grantees will serve as CSO models in engaging constituencies and bringing high social impact in their area of expertise.
In this Context, AED awarded grants to CSOs throughout the country, including the Transnistrian region to participate in:
a. An intensive and individualized organizational development, and specifically to:
• improve internal management and governing structures
• increase financial viability
• perform strategic planning
• develop a quality assurance system
• establish constituency-building methodologies
• understand financial systems and diversify funding sources
b. Decision-making process, and specifically to:
• scan issues and identify solutions for sector wide problems
• build and engage constituencies
• develop advocacy campaigns
• build sector and cross-sector networking
• promote NGO-Government partnership in public decisions making
• monitor the implementation of public policies
• ensure media support
In April 2010, AED selected 14 civil society organizations throughout the country, including from the Transnistrian region, to implement Agenda for Change projects within the period of June 1, 2010 – May 31, 2012.
