In this difficult period authorities look for external assistance and investments and private entities look to survive too. What can bring these parts together? Can PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP be helpful in this situation? What investments can civil society bring to such partnerships and how it can help to solve day by day problems faced by Moldovan citizens—better access to health for elderly, education and inclusive activities for street children, organizes cultural events or even to contribute to economical growth?
These and many other questions will be discussed at a two and a half hours roundtable on July 15, focusing on the implementation of the Law on Public Private Partnership (PPP) and it’s opportunities for CSOs. The roundtable is organized by CONTACT Center, in cooperation with Academy for Educational Development (AED) and financial support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The representatives of the Ministry of Economy, civil society and local public administration will have the opportunity to discuss the implementation of the law on PPP and find most efficient approaches and opportunities on making it more effective. Based on their own experience and concrete study cases, the participants will discuss the strong and weak sides of the PPP law and its implementation practices. They will have the opportunity to suggest improvements of the law, in order to increase its efficiency and ensure feasible implementation mechanisms. .
Through this roundtable we hope to strengthen the process of involving the civil society in common projects with the local public administration in order to create a more constituent-driven, financially viable civil society sector.
