VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: Grants Assistant

The Moldova Civil Society Strengthening Program (MCSSP), which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by the Academy for Educational Development (AED), is recruiting a Grants Assistant. The MCSSP is a three-year effort and runs through September, 2012. The main responsibilities of the position include:
• Assist Grants team in all aspects of grant management administration and ensure thorough and complete documentation for grant recipients is kept on file
• Manage correspondence and first line communication with Grantees.
• Help develop and maintain on a daily basis a Grants Tracking System;
• Handle logistics for workshops, trainings and other events with grantees;
• Assist Grants and the technical assistance team in conducting field visits to monitor grantee work;
• Support the Grants and technical assistance team in the preparation of all necessary documents for the procuring of goods and services, such as consultants and trainers that are needed, in close coordination with the Operations and Procurement team.
• Monitor purchases of equipment by the grantees and maintain an equipment inventory list;
• Provide all administrative support required, including preparing correspondence, photocopying, filing, faxing, and telephone support.
Qualifications and skills required:
• University degree or equivalent in Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences or other related fields;
• Have excellent knowledge of English, Romanian and Russian. Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
• Progressive work experience with non-governmental organization or/and international organizations;
• Work experience in administration, specifically in Grants awarding programs;
• Good interpersonal skills.
